Rs 180 million funds released for education projects

The Punjab government has released funds amounting to Rs 180 million to the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) for carrying various projects in education sector. District Nazim Lahore, Mian Amer Mahmood revealed this while addressing cash and awards distribution ceremony among the best teachers of CDGL here on Thursday. The provincial government would soon release more funds of Rs 20 million to the CDGL, that would be utilised to provide necessary facilities in the educational institutions, he maintained.
He stated that there is no ghost school in the district while all transfers/postings in the schools are made on merit. He urged the teachers to play their due role for creating awareness among the people about the necessity of modern education.
Mian Amer gave cash prize of Rs 100,000 each from his own pocket to the best principals including Syed Maqsood ul Hassan Bokhari, Principal Government MAO College and Arifa Younis, Principal, Government College for Women, Cooper Road.
