IMF director calls on Prime Minister

Pakistan has achieved encouraging results in the macro-economic field and now endeavouring to transfer the benefits of the economic gains to the common man. This was stated by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz while talking to Mohsin Khan, Director International Monetary Fund (IMF), who called on him at the Prime Minister House on Sunday. The Prime Minister discussed the present economic situation and said that the government has embarked on second-generation reforms to sustain the economic growth and create more employment opportunities.
Mohsin Khan appreciated the economic reforms carried out by the government, especially the success of the government in implementing these reforms, and said that Pakistan is viewed as a success story by the IMF. Shaukat Aziz said investment by the private sector is increasing which will create more job opportunities. He said that though Pakistan has a lot of challenges but the government was confident that it would be able to face them because of the strong economic foundation.
