As many as three thousands female would be provided training in sewing, embroidery, cutting, knitting, fabrics, painting, designing and candle making in four district of the province that include Malakand, Swat, Buner and Shangla. The training programme initially will commence in eight centres of the districts for which arrangements have been finalised under the directives of the secretary social welfare and Women Development Department, Noorul Haq. The trainees will be paid an allowance of Rs 100/- per day during the training.
Earlier, on April 15, 2005 a memorandum of understanding between social welfare and women development government of NWFP and Malakand rural development project (MRDP) was signed in the Civil Secretariat Peshawar in the presence of the senior minister and chief secretary NWFP. The memorandum of understanding is pinned at accelerating the pace of women development in the province providing them training facilities in various disciplines.
Under the agreement MRDP will also pay Rs 500 admission fee and Rs 20,000 per month for accommodation of trainees per month for a single batch. The number of training centres will be increased with passage of time in all four districts Malakand, Swat, Buner and Shangla.
