The Global Compact Foundation is pleased to be associated with ACCA-WWF initiative on Pakistan Environmental Reporting Awards (PERA). The corporate community has recognised the need to focus on environmental issues and in doing so, play its role as a socially responsible citizen. As part of the global economy, Pakistani businesses have to comply with increasingly challenging international standards on environment, human rights, labour laws and anti-corruption.
The UN Global Compact seeks to support stakeholders in this respect and to support initiatives such as PERA that aim to incentives more transparent, sustainable business models. By endorsing the PERA awards, the Global Compact Foundation signals its priority in working with partners such as ACCA and WWF, to encourage reporting on environmental aspects of business activity, strengthen capacity of the Pakistani corporate sector in meeting global challenges and contribute towards sustainable development in Pakistan.
