The President and CEO of Singtel, Lee Hsien Yang on Monday called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and expressed keen desire of his company to invest in Pakistan. The Singtel chief said that his company was looking for exploring business opportunities including participation in the privatisation process as the economic climate in Pakistan was favourable and provides attractive incentives to potential investors.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told the Singaporean business leader that Pakistan was pursuing a transparent privatisation process to encourage investment and open up the economy.
The government, he added, believed that its role was only to facilitate and provide conducive environment to investors. He said the cellular industry has lately seen an exponential growth and tremendous upsurge in Pakistan and there was still a lot of potential in this sector.
