India on Tuesday test fired Trishul, a indigenously developed multi-target surface-to-air missile from Integrated Test Range at Chandipur-on-sea, about 15 km from Balasore (Orissa). The missile was launched from a mobile launcher, said, however, it was not immediately known whether the experiment was a success, a news report quoted defence sources. "Trishul has a striking range of 12 km and can carry 15kg warhead. Powered by solid propellant, the missile has supersonic speed," the sources said.
