The rupee shed one paisa versus the dollar in the interbank market for buying and selling at 59.46 and 59.47, dealers said on Thursday. The marginal demand for dollars helped the rupee maintain its firmness in terms of the greenback, they added. The dollar improved versus the major currencies in the world markets, money experts said. Commenting on the steadier trend in the rupee's value, they said that the frequent supply of dollars by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) saved the local currency from sharp slide.
The rupee shed 10 paisa in relation to the euro for buying and selling at Rs 77.35 and Rs 77.65, respectively.
