FTA with China to be finalised soon: Salman

Finance Advisor to Prime Minister Dr Salman Shah on Thursday said free trade arrangement (FTA) between Pakistan and China would be finalised soon. Talking with PTV he said, "We are working on free trade arrangement with China as it will open huge market for Pakistani products." Presently, Pakistan's imports from China are high as compared to exports, he added. He said recent visit by Chinese premier to Pakistan has helped to further enhance bilateral trade between the two friendly countries.
Replying to a question about reopening of Pak-China border for land trade via Karakorum Highway, he said it would gear up bilateral trade activities between the two countries.
Salman Shah said custom facility would be improved by providing modern equipment to authorities on the border to facilitate importers and exporters.
To a question he said land route through Pakistan would link China to the Arabian Sea and other countries, which was presently the largest growing economy in the world.
