'Active women participation vital for healthy society'

Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development, Nilofar Bakhtiar has said that women folk was very important member of the society and their active participation was quite essential for healthy society and development of country. She was addressing at the 11th convocation ceremony of Islamabad College for Girls here on Thursday. Principal Professor Mrs Shahmim Humayau along with a large number of faculty members and students attended the convocation.
Nilofar said the government was taking all possible measures to educate people and make them useful citizens. "Government is aware of women's rights and has taken a number of steps in this regard," she added.
Hailing the efforts of girl students, she urged them to get higher education so as to perform their responsibilities in the best possible manner in their respective fields.
Real success could only be achieved when academic achievements were blended with higher moral values, commitment and above board dealings in their lives, she observed.
Congratulating the graduates, Nilofar advised the students to enter their professional lives not only armed with the knowledge gained during their stay in the institute but also to keep their minds open to new ideas and challenges.
She directed the ICT management to prepare PC1 for the construction of hostel and care centre. She also announced one bus for college.
Principal of the college Professor Shahmim Humayaun highlighted the history and services of the institute. Later, certificates and prizes were awarded to the graduating students.
