24 homeopathic dispensaries to be set up in NWFP

NWFP Governor Khalil-ur-Rehman on Saturday said the provincial government is giving due importance to homeopathic as well as to Tib-e-Unani systems of medicines. Talking to a 15-member representatives delegation comprising homeopathic physicians of the province, which called on him at Governor's House, he said as a first step in this respect, a total of 24 dispensaries are being established at the district level in the province, where besides homeopathic physicians, a Tib-e-Unani physician will also be available to provide treatment facilities to the people in the respective fields.
On this occasion, Frontier Homeopathic Medical College Principal Colonel Iqbal Shaheen (Retd) apprised the working of the homeopathic system of medicine in the province.
On the occasion, NWFP Health Secretary Abdul Samad Khan also said that steps are being taken by the government for the promotion of homeopathic system of medicines in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the NWFP governor took keen interest in the working of the homeopathic system of medicines and the availability of educational and research facilities in this connection.
He also welcomed the proposals presented by the delegation in this respect, saying: "We should continue our efforts to provide maximum health care facilities to the people within the ambit of their financial reach.
He also appreciated the steps being taken by the provincial government in this connection, and hoped that those would prove result-oriented.
He also directed the authorities concerned to look into the possibility for encouraging the homeopathic system of medicines in Fata as well.
