Indian CEC briefed about LG elections system

Indian Chief Election Commissioner T.S. Krishna visited the office of provincial Election Commissioner here on Saturday. Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and other officials were also present on the occasion. T.S. Krishna was briefed about Local Government elections system. He was also informed that the forthcoming LB elections, which will be started in the month of July, will be completed in the month of August.
Chief Election Commissioner Pakistan said that the bilateral visit would help foster goodwill and provide an opportunity to share each other's electoral experiences and expertise in the field of electoral management through informal interaction.
The Federal Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan, Kanwar Dilshad Ahmad highlighted the local government elections system. The Indian Chief Election Commissioner appreciated the working of Election Commission of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Indian Election Commissioner also visited the Lahore museum and took keen interest in the artifacts displayed in the museum. He observed that cultural heritage of Pakistan and India is almost the same. He said that the historical city of Lahore is rich in culture and people of both the countries are linked to each other in cultural and social ties and added that we can promote our cultural heritage through mutual understanding.
He also visited the Shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.
