President Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Mughis A Sheikh has urged Chairman PIA to consider formation of Advisory Committee for the organisation, having representatives from Chambers of Commerce & Industry. In a statement issued here Saturday, Mughis said that Chambers played a vital role in economic development of the country by helping in implementation of various government policies, as well as raising difficulties and problems of trade and industry with the authorities concerned.
He said that different government departments and agencies, such as Ministry of Commerce/Railways/Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and others, had formed advisory committees/councils having representation from Chambers. However, there was no such body in PIA.
"If PIA could have such a committee with representation from Chambers, it would render proposals/suggestions to improve the functioning of the National Airlines, to minimise travel problems facing public in general, and business community in particular," he said.
