Labour organisations stage rallies in Hyderabad

Trade Unions and Labour organisations brought out a number of rallies and processions to observe Labour Day here on Sunday. Wapda Hydro-electric Central Labour Union chairman, Abdul Latif Nizamani strongly criticised the government on its failure to check the hike in prices of essential commodities, particular kitchen items, making it difficult for the people to make their both ends meet. He was addressing a workers meeting at Labour Hall. Nizamani said the government should streamline labour policies to restore the basic rights of the workers.
The Pasban also brought out a rally from market area, which terminated at local press club where the labour leaders demanded that if government failed to resolve the problems of workers, which are being exploited by the capitalist forces, the economic development would not be possible.
Pakistan Trade Unions Defense Committee also staged a rally. The speakers at the rally criticised Hyderabad Development Authority for not paying their salaries for last two months and called upon government to resolve their problems on priority basis.
Bangles Contractors Association leader Rehan Yousufzai that the workers of bangle manufacturing sector should be treated as labour and should be provided social security cover.
