Drive initiated against vehicles without permits

Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Rawai has decided to start an operation against those Public Transport vehicles that were running on the route without route-permit and fitness. Crackdown was being starting against buses, wagons, suzuke, taxis today (Monday) on May 2 in the whole Rawalpinid city. Public transports vehicles checking has been started under the supervision of Secretary Transport Tariff Mahmmod. In Rawalpinid almost 90 percent public transports were running on the different routes of the city without Route-permits and fitness.
Meanwhile, the traffic police have launched a major operation against underage drivers and violators of traffic laws in Rawalpindi. As many as five hundred vehicles have been impounded and hundreds others challaned so far under the drive.
Incharge traffic police Maharabad Circle, Sardar Shakil Ahmad said that hundreds of vehicles driven by underage drivers had been taken into custody and the owners have been fined. He said that the vehicles without number plates and token number plates were challaned adding strict action had been taken against drivers without license and documents.
