S&T ministry approves Rs 39.976 million for PCST

Ministry of Science and Technology has approved Rs 39.976 million for the project 'Strengthening and upgradation of Pakistan Council of Science and Technology (PCST)'. The project aims to augment the planning, evaluation and promotion of science and technology, greatly focused areas of PCST, says a press release. It will also upbeat the abilities and functions of PCST by providing it analytical reports and suggestions for conducting research studies. PCST is mainly concerned with the institutional and individual based scientific research and its worth for the economic growth.
To meet the pressing need of skilled manpower, the project will also help in providing modern training to the country's scientists and engineers by sending them into the international institutions of high repute.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Nouraiz Shakoor said that 10 new posts of high quality manpower would be created under this project. New project would help PCST in becoming a vibrant research institution by providing it a true direction for promotion of university, industry linkage and technological development, he added.-PR
