LHCBA demands removal of federal law secretary

04 May, 2005

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has demanded removal of federal law secretary former Justice Mansoor Ahmed Khan. The bar in its meeting here on Tuesday also requested Chief Justice of Pakistan to initiate contempt of court proceedings against him and also award punishment to him for disgracing the Chief Justice of Pakistan in his speech before Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The bar contemned the insolent, insulting and contemptuous criticism unleashed by the contemner.
In order to maintain the majesty of law, keeping up the image of judiciary as an independent state functionary and further to establish in the eye of general public the integrity, honesty and uprightness of Chief Justice, the bar said that exemplary punishment should be awarded to the federal law secretary.
