The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sent a petition to General Manager Zarai Tarqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and directed him to decide the matter of the petitioner within a fortnight. The court passed these orders in a petition filed by one Muhammad Anwar of Sialkot, who approached the court against ZTBL. The petitioner through his counsel MD Tahir contended that he had obtained loan from the respondent bank for buying a tractor. He said that president of Pakistan had declared his district as calamity hit area and also announced writing off all the agricultural loans but the respondent bank was demanding Rs 600,000 against the loan obtained in 2002.
He prayed to the court to direct the respondent bank officials not to disturb the petitioner. The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, sent the petition to the respondent bank official and directed him to decide the matter within a fortnight.
