Students urged to strengthen Nawaz Sharif's hands

26 May, 2005

PML-N leader Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, has urged students to contribute their due role, like they performed in the days of Pakistan movement, to safeguard the country from authoritarian rulers and join in the struggle of Nawaz Sharif. He was addressing a seminar on 'Mian Nawaz Sharif and Atomic bomb', which was organised by the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) at the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday. While paying tributes to those students whom took active part in the Pakistan movement, Khosa said that they had played vital role and were always in the frontline.
He was of the view that after the death of Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan has gone through turbulence up till now. He observed that no true political government, chosen by the people, have been permitted to rule the country, as the military always intervened and forcefully snatched the power from the people's government. "In fact, all the Generals in power played with the faith of the country," he added.
According to him, now we were under the rule of another General, came in to power after toppling Nawaz Sharif government, which had secured unprecedented two-third majority in the Nation Assembly.
In contrast to Nawaz Sharif, who resisted the US pressure and went ahead with the nuke tests that was the demand of our national interests; General Musharraf succumbed to the US pressure after 9/11 tragedy.
