A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday did not take up case of Jehangir Badar due to hearing of other cases in the court. The case was fixed for hearing before the bench of the Apex Court comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui, Justice Faqir Mohammad Khokhar and Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk. Prosecutor General National Accountability Bureau, Irfan Qadir remained present in the court for arguments. Counsel of Jehangir Badar, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada and Sardar Latif Khosa were also present in the court.
Jehangir Badar, a central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians remained federal minister in the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's cabinet from 1988 to 1999. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against Jehangir Badar for misuse of powers as federal minister for petroleum and natural resources from 1988-1990 regarding induction of people in various attached departments of the ministry besides issuing of permission for petrol pumps and contracts.
