27 May, 2005

Veteran Indian journalist and intellectual Kuldip Nayar has hoped that the ongoing confidence-building measures (CBMs) process between India and Pakistan would be fruitful and it would pave the way for the peaceful solution of all the outstanding issues, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Nayar said that the people of both the neighbouring countries wanted sustainable and durable peace in the sub-continent. Earlier, Kuldip Nayar along with his wife, visited his native home in Trunk Bazaar on Wednesday evening.
He met with his old friends and refreshed his pre-partition sweet memories. He also visited the house of an active worker of Pakistan Movement and Kashmir Freedom Movement late Ghulam Muhammad Jarah and deeply condoled his sad demise with the grieved family.
Kuldip Nayar also hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot and its marvellous socio-economic development.
