President Pervez Musharraf has said that Pakistan was committed to the cause of peace, stability and freedom in the world. In a message issued on the Memorial Day being celebrated in the United States on Sunday, the President called upon the world fraternity to resolve for making this world peaceful and prosperous.
He said the Memorial Day not only marks a significant chapter in the history of the United States but also symbolises the importance of freedom and the sacrifices that are made by nations to attain it.
He said well-being and prosperity of the world can be attributed to the valour and courage of the brave men and women who gallantly sacrificed their precious lives for the sake of their fellowmen and women and the cause of justice.
The President said history is replete with examples when nations have risen to amazing heights due to efforts of their selfless warriors.
These super human beings reaching beyond the call of duty have made a place for themselves in the annals of history for all times to come. He stressed that following in the footsteps of these great people, we the comity of nations must resolve to leave no stone unturned for making this world peaceful and prosperous.
On this occasion, General Pervez Musharraf said on behalf of the people of Pakistan, I sincerely offer my highest regards and salute the courage of all those who over the past so many decades laid their lives for the sake of their country and reiterate our commitment to the cause of peace, stability and freedom.
