The Pakistani rice exporters can export rice to East African countries (EAC) at old duty rates for two years. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) announced this in a statement issued here on Tuesday. The EPB informed the rice exporters that they could export rice to East African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, at old duty rates of 35 percent for 24 months after which the EAC would revive the decision.
This decision was taken by the EAC finance ministers in a meeting held on May 14 in Tanzania.-PR
