Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has directed law enforcers to carryout their best efforts for arrest of culprits, involved in recent terrorist attacks in Karachi, without getting influenced with "so-called protest or pressures". "I am sure that law enforcement agencies would bring the culprits involved in recent terrorism in the metropolis to the justice, as they have got exemplary success in eliminating notorious terrorists, underworld gangs and other outlaws".
He stated this while chairing a high-level meeting here at the Governor House on Thursday night, to review law and order situation in the province especially in Karachi.
Getting apprised of the efforts being taken for apprehending terrorists, he directed officials to expedite moves, and instructed law enforcement agencies to take extra security measures in all over the province for protecting lives and properties of the people, and keep stern vigil on anti-social elements.
The governor clarified that the government's hectic efforts had ensured sectarian harmony in the province, therefore strict action must be taken to foil designs of those who wanted to spread hatred among the people, he stressed.
Reviewing motives behind recent wave of terrorism in the city, he directed officials to ensure co-operation between law enforcers and community to send the terrorists behind the bars. He paid tribute to police personnel showing courage against terrorists in Madinat-ul-Ilm incident, saying it had increased confidence in police.
He appealed to people to continue their co-operation in elimination of elements involved in terrorism and other crimes. However, Dr Ibad instructed law enforcers to give special attention while taking action against outlaws that innocent people would not be disturbed.
Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, Principal Secretary Brigadier (Retd) Akhtar Zamin, Home Secretary Brigadier (Retd) Ghulam Muhammad Mohtram and high officials of police and rangers attended the meeting.
