Head of Russian power firm resigns

The general director of Russian regional power firm Mosenergo, Arkady Yevstafyev, has resigned, news agency Interfax reported on Saturday, after a major power outage paralysed Moscow last month. "The reason for his resignation is the unsatisfactory assessment of the Mosenergo management expressed by President Vladimir Putin on Saturday," it quoted Russian power monopoly UES board member Andrei Trapeznikov as saying.
