Infosys, Alstom to invest $39 million in India

Infosys Technologies Ltd, India's second-biggest software services exporter, and French heavy engineering firm Alstom said on May 31, they would invest more than $39m in a research and development centre in India. The investment will be made over a period of three years, and the centre will initially have a strength of 60 people, which will quintuple over the next three years, company officials said.
Alstom plans to focus 20% of its world-wide R&D spending in India, officials told a news conference.
