Al Futtaim Technologies launches operation

The increased economic activities are indicators of government's strategic and stable policies. Due to these policies entrepreneurs, multinational and domestic private sector are coming forward and choosing this region as a potential business segment for their operations.
These views were expressed by Sindh Minister for Information Technology, Syed Mustafa Kamal while speaking as a chief guest at the formal launch of Al Futtaim Technologies Pakistan Private Limited operations of providing telecommunication solutions on Wednesday.
"We are progressing in the IT field, in comparison to the past," he said, adding, "the government function is not to involve in any business, rather it acts as catalyst and facilitator to companies in private sector. We are also working with private sector to establish business process outsourcing in Karachi."
The IT ministry is going to launch Internet Media City and the land has been transferred to the ministry for further execution. The private sector has a big role to play in the said project, the minister said.
In the era of information communication technologies (ICT) and the media dominating the whole scenario, it has become nearly impossible to hide and confine ones good or bad deed from the rest of the world, Mustafa Kamal said.
The Sindh IT minister said that the companies coming to Pakistan, must have done all the analysis and forecasting regarding the future of Pakistan and added that we are sure that Al Futtaim would have done the same.
Earlier, Chief Executive Officer, Al Futtaim Group, Omar Abdullah Al Futtaim said, "We are contributing in the economy of Pakistan through our partners Alcatel Enterprise Solutions."
He said the group was planning to introduce best business practices that were being practiced in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Al Futtaim Group of UAE has formally launched its Al Futtaim Technologies, Pakistan to provide telecommunication solutions to large enterprise and SMB market.
Under the agreement, Al Futtaim Technologies would sell, deploy and maintain Alcatel solutions, enabling its customers to access such solution through a specialised and qualified team with advanced skills.
Alcatel Senior Country Officer, Dr Mazen Hamadullah said this agreement would not only ensure the accessibility of telecommunication solutions to our corporate customers in Pakistan, but would also ensure the presence of strong business partners with a deep knowledge of the technology.
Al Futtaim Technologies country general manager, Jafar Naqvi, Alcatel Enterprise Solutions vice president, France, Pascal Dussiau and others were also present of the occasion.
