Minister for in-service training of young doctors

Punjab Health Minister, Dr Tahir Ali Javed has directed the health department officials to conduct research in various public health disciplines for the trainers and onward transmission to public health management at district and tehsil levels.
Speaking at the inaugural session of 'Advocacy seminar on Healthcare Finance' held at Institute of Public Health in collaboration with World Health Organisation (WHO) here on Wednesday, the minister emphasised the need of in-service training of young doctors.
The Minister directed the health officials to arrange training courses to achieve the objectives of implementing an effective in-service training program envisaging the training need of health personnel and to co-ordinate and collaborate with different health organisations.
He advised to provide technical support to the district health authorities as the provision of better health care facilities to the common people at grassroots level vests under the district government system.
Secretary Health Sohail Ahmed said that the developmental budget for the health department within two years had been increased by 400percent and Rs3.3 billion would be provided in next budget.
Primary healthcare infrastructure would he improved in next fiscal year under CMs health sector reforms, he added.
Director General Health, Dr Khalid Mehmood Rana highlighted the objectives of the advocacy seminar on healthcare finance.
