Lawyers protest over desecration of Holy Quran

The lawyers' community observed strike and boycotted court proceedings to register its protest against sacrilege of Holy Quran by American military men in Guantanamo bay. The lawyers organised rallies and took out processions against the desecration of Holy Quran on call from Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council. Most of the bar members remained in the bar rooms and discussed present political situation of the country.
The members of Lahore High Court Bar Association took out a procession from the bar premises to main gate of High Court at Mall Road. The participants of the procession raised slogans against American President Bush and President General Musharraf.
LHCBA President Fakharunnisa Khokhar, Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari, Punjab Bar Council Executive Committee Chairman Asghar Gill and other representatives of the bar addressed the members.
