First SAP Solution Academy has started its operation here on Friday. The academy, which is a joint project of Abacus Consulting and SAP Malaysia, will impart training in key SAP solutions for enterprise resource planning and supply chain management as well as in basic programming languages. Abacus Consulting President Asad Ali Khan said this at the contract signing ceremony between Abacus Consulting and SAP Malaysia.
Asad said that with rapid growing economy, Pakistani business houses are becoming more conscious of the need for the state-of-the-art fully integrated, cross functional resource planning and management systems for efficient and effective utilisation of resources and enhanced analytically support capabilities.
He said that most business houses and conglomerates are in the process of consolidating their position and seriously reviewing the way they do business.
In order to undertake a quality implementation and to support the systems, while ensuring a positive return on investment, the market needs locally available skills and high caliber SAP professionals in Pakistan. For bridging this gap, the environment is, therefore, conducive to establish a SAP Academy in Lahore.
He said that indeed this is a very significant development in terms of information technology skill development in Pakistan and would result in a marked improvement in quality of SAP implementation and support systems.
He said that together with SAP they planned to bring this world-renowned technology to some of the biggest and best brand names and business leaders in Pakistan.
Asad said that SAP Academy Lahore would serve as a centre of excellence for training and educating high quality SAP consultants to implement and support SAP solutions in the market.
He said that the academy is offering full certification courses in BASIS Administration and also short courses for project teams from the SAP installed base. The academy will be supervised directly by SAP Malaysia and would include both local and foreign trainers.
SAP Malaysia, Brunei and Pakistan Managing Director Eric MacDonald, while addressing the ceremony, said that his partnership would benefit both SAP and Abacus Consulting. He said the company would be able to perform solution implementation with greater customer satisfaction.
