Karachiites cautioned against rough seas

11 Jun, 2005

Edhi Marine Service sources here on Friday warned Karachiites that since the coastal water has turned rough and high tide is also registered it would be appropriate to avoid bathing in sea. It was mentioned that with the onset of monsoon and heavy sea current in the month of June picnickers visiting the beaches in Karachi or in Balochistan (Gadani Beach) need to remember that going deep into sea water or attempting to bathe could be extremely dangerous with all chances of getting drowned.
The sources further reminded that with the inception of summer vacations in local schools and soaring temperatures there is every possibility of Karachiites flocking towards popular points as Hawkebay, Sandspit, Paradise Point, Neelam Point and Gadani Beach, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays.
"This makes it necessary for us to forewarn/remind that waves would be very high and it would be advisable to be extremely cautious with due care in context of youth and children they said.
