Nazim assures traders of solution to problems

City District Government Lahore (CDGL) Nazim Lahore Mian Amer Mahmood has assured traders' community of addressing their problems relating to traffic, parking and encroachment in the Azam Cloth Market on priority basis. Presiding over a meeting of Azam Cloth Market traders here on Thursday, Amer said the city district government was taking all out measures to provide maximum facilities to business community in the provincial metropolis.
All available resources would be used to redress traders' complaints in respect of markets situated in thickly populated areas of the city, he added.
Ravi Town Nazim Mehr Asif, Ravi Town Co-ordinator Mian Talat, EDO Works and Services Chaudhry Arif and other officers of the civic agencies were also present on the occasion.
District Nazim directed the Water and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) officers to submit estimates for installation of tube-well in the area. He also asked the Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (Lesco) to prepare schedule for improving electricity system in the markets. He directed the Ravi Town Municipal Officer to remove encroachments from the markets and submit a compliance report. Mian Amer Mahmood promised to provide Rs 8 million for construction of drain at Amer Road in New Shadbagh area.
