Rawalpindi traders to attend OIC Trade Forum

A seven-member trade delegation of Rawalpindi would take part in the two days OIC Trade Forum in Malaysian capital Putrajaya to introduce their industrial products in the Muslim world. The delegation would be led by Mian Muhammad Ateeq, renowned businessman, dealing in tourism development, hotelling and wood panels and chipboard.
Other members of delegation are Habib ur Rehman, deputy leader, dealing in poultry breeding, Baqaullah, dealing in industrial raw materials, chemicals and equipments, Zaheeruddin Baber, dealing in electric power tools, Muhammad Khalid, dealing in food products and beverages, Muhammad Amjad, dealing in freight forwarding and Muhammad Ahmed Khan dealing in radio communications.
Talking to reporters, head of the delegation, Mian Ateeq said that the main objective of the OIC Trade Forum was to maximise the intra-OIC trade and investment linkages and to strengthen the economic co-operation among OIC countries. He said that fostering closer partnership among OIC business communities is need of hour and the forum would prove helpful in this regard.
Mian Ateeq said that forum would also help in facilitating trade in goods and services, investment and networking, besides exploring business opportunities and joint ventures in various sectors such as construction, private education and tourism.
It is a big opportunities for Rawalpindi and region and would help us to bring foreign investors here besides export our products to Muslim world, Ateeq said.
The OIC Trade Forum would start from June 20 and end on June 21 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre. The forum would have five regular sessions and two business meetings to facilitate the participating businessmen from Muslim world to have liaison and make efforts for joint ventures.
