Issuance of 8,000 suspicious CNICs blocked in Balochistan

Answering a question, he said Pakistan cannot compromise on national security issues. Pakistan cannot grant identity to Afghans and others.

The suspected people had submitted fake particulars while applying for the CNIC. Majority were the holders of dual or bogus manual old National Identity Cards (NIC). They had also submitted fake addresses; their attestations in applications of applying CNIC were also fake.

He said Nadra has recently cleared many suspected persons. The documents submitted by the applicants are verified through various agencies including special Branch, provisional verifying agencies and Intelligence Branch.

In addition the information given by the applicants are also verified through Nadra Vigilance, he said.

Investigation against the verify officers, who attested fake documents of Afghans, Iranians are being carried out, he said.

A total of 930 FIRs have been registered against the aliens for submitting fake particulars. Various Naib Nazim used to verify the applications without checking, he said.

However, genuine people are being issued CNICs.

"We can authorize teachers to verify the documents if they can show responsibility," he said.

Criticising Afghan refugees, he said refugees are involved in heinous crimes. Any Afghani, if involved in crime would be punished severely.
