Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has termed the allegations of US Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad as baseless and unfounded. In an interview with Afghan TV, the US ambassador had alleged that the Taleban supreme commander Mullah Muhammad Umer along with some Taleban leaders was present in Pakistani territory.
"Mullah Muhammad Umer has never ever visited Pakistan in his whole life even during the Soviet invasion on Afghanistan in 1960s when whole of Afghanistan was provided sanctuary in Pakistan," Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told Geo on Saturday.
Pakistan has no information about the Taleban leaders if Zalmay Khalilzad has some information about him he should pass it on to Pakistan, he said.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the views of Khalilzad about Pakistan had always been negative.
