Sialkot police have initiated a crackdown drive against criminals and anti-social elements aimed at bringing down the crime graph in Sialkot district, said District Police Officer Sialkot Usama Mumtaz Raja. Addressing a press conference here on Friday afternoon he said that strenuous efforts were being made for the elimination of criminals and anti-social elements in the district.
The DPO said that under the campaign Pasrur police have smashed a notorious inter-district gang and arrested 20 gangsters while recovered cash, stolen motorcycles, gold ornaments, electronics goods and huge quantity of weapons.
The police have also busted Kala gang and arrested its 5 members and recovered looted amount of Rs 80,000, two motorcycles, two TV, TV player, cameras and electronics goods, he disclosed.
Usama Raja said that three members of Shahbaz gang have also been arrested involved in dacoities and the police have recovered cash amounting Rs 45,000 and weapons from the criminals. The DPO said that police station Badiana have also arrested four members of Akhtari gang and recovered huge quantity of weapons and ammunition from the culprits.
