HBL joins MNET with MCB

The Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has signed an agreement with the Muslim Commercial bank (MCB) to join the Merchant Network (MNET) for wider acceptance of the HBL cards. MCB President and Chief Executive Mohammad Aftab Manzoor, and HBL President and CEO R Zakir Mahmood signed the agreement at a ceremony held at the MCB Tower here, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.
According to press release, the agreement has laid down foundation for two icons of the banking industry to join their hands for providing enhanced services to the customers.
As a result of this agreement, HBL's cardholders, who are already using their cards at the countrywide MNET ATMs, can now make purchases through their cards at thousands of MNET locations.
The MNET currently has the largest Debit MNET in Pakistan equipped with state-of-the-art Point of Sale terminals.
Various other banks' customers also prefer MNET because it provides enhanced security to the cardholder through PIN authorisation with internationally accepted standards, the release said.-PR
