Provinces asked to take steps to deal with floods

The federal government has directed all the provincial governments to take protective measures to avoid any emergency due to floods. The water level in all the NWFP rivers is dangerously higher. Due to this, storage of water at various barrages in the Northern Areas, including Tarbela, Mangla, as well as other upstream and downstream dams and barrages, is improving.
In Sindh, the Abkalani arrangements for protecting Bunds along River Indus and rising water disposal to Jabal area, Dadu district, is being carefully monitored.
Meanwhile, all the provinces have started taking protective measures to face any emergency in case of floods.
