Four Sindh University scholars to get PhD degrees

The Board of Advanced Studies, University of Sindh, in its 83rd meeting here on Tuesday approved to award Ph.D. degrees to four candidates in various disciplines of the Faculties of Natural and Social Sciences. The candidates who will be awarded Ph.D. degrees included Ms. Khalida Faryal Almani in Pharmacy, Ms. Sahar Imdad Hussaini in Sindhi, Siraj Jamal Siddiqui in Public Administration and Mrs. Saima Shaikh in Sociology.
The meeting also discussed in detail the ongoing academic and research programmes in various institutes and taken several important decisions about allowing senior scholars to supervise research projects of the candidates of their M.Phil and Ph.D. research programmes.
A three-member committee has been constituted to probe into the delay in the procedural work causing constraint in the research activities.
The committee comprises Dr Anwar Ali Shah, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Dr Muhammad Yar Khawar and Dr Abida Tahrani.
The meeting also approved rules and regulations with minor suggestions for registration in research studies leading to the degree of M.Phil/MS and Ph.D. research programmes.
Sindh University Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui presided over the meeting.
Deans of all faculties, senior professors of various institutes and departments of the university were also present on the occasion.
