Hearing of cases against Benazir and Zardari adjourned

Local Accountability Courts have adjourned the hearing of four corruption references against the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Asif Zardari till July 7. These include ARY-Gold, SGS Assets and BMW corruption references. Zardari's lawyer Farooq Naik appeared in the courts and presented medical certificate of the accused, resulting in the adjournment of the cases here on Saturday.
The Judge AC No 2 had already sentenced Bhutto in the SGC case to three years in prison after declaring her proclaimed offender for deliberately avoiding the court in May 2002. The accused Zardari is on bail and is presently in Dubai.
