Unisame urges steps for rain emergencies

The Union of Small & Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has urged the government to take advance measures to overcome the situation, which is likely to arise due to expected heavy rains, said a statement issued here on Sunday. Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver pointed out that in spite of warnings, the government had not taken full measures to overcome the expected situation, which could cause severe civic & medical problems, the statement added.
He said that a stitch in time saves nine and one must be wise before the event.
Thaver has also alerted its SME members to take necessary precautionary measures in view of heavy rains expected towards the end of June 2005.
The Unisame president has directed all its volunteers not to be caught unaware and be prepared for torrential downpours and organise relief work accordingly, the statement added.-PR
