The Collectorate of Customs, Lahore, has surpassed the revenue target for the financial year 2004-05, a spokesman for the Collectorate said here on Sunday. He said that the Central Board of Revenue had assigned the target of Rs 13 billion in terms of custom duty to the collectorate which it achieved on June 23.
Up till June 26, 2005, the collectorate had collected Rs 212 million above the target and Rs 1077 million, or 30 percent, higher than last year's target. The spokesman said that Lahore Customs Collector Mehboob Saqib Khan has greeted all officials of the Collectorate for not only achieving the target for 2004-05 but also surpassing it. He advised them to perform their duties in future with the same spirit and sense of responsibility.
Meanwhile, all offices of the Collectorate at Dry Port, Container Freight Station and Airport (Air Freight Unit) remained open on Sunday and officials performed their duties as per normal schedule.
