A number of Turkish cash and carry stores have expressed their interest in setting up super stores in Pakistan. "We hope that these Turkish business concerns are likely to hold talks with their Pakistani counterparts in this regard very soon "said Chairman Pak-Turkish Business Council, Bashir Ahmad Buksh who has recently visited Turkey.
Buksh, the chief executive officers of a local chain of stores, said the establishment of stores by German firm, Metro, Makro of Holland and Turkish groups would not pose any threat to local super stores.
"Rather, this will increase the competitiveness in the retail business," he said while talking to APP. He said Pakistani stores had already working on automation of the accounts to increase their competitiveness vis-à-vis the foreign companies.
