"Image of Pakistan" colour photo-exhibition held in Beijing on Tuesday to project the country's social and cultural life and tourism potential. The exhibition comprised over 100 photographs, which were collected by the journalists of three Chinese leading magazines - 'The City Tourism,' 'China National Geographic' and 'Deep', during their recent visits to Pakistan.
The photographs portrayed some eye-catching landscape and scenic beauty, presenting the country as a favourite tourists destination. The event, arranged by the Pakistan embassy, was attended by a large number of diplomats, officials and representatives of media and other organisations.
It was a rare opportunity to see the country's picturesque features through the eyes of the Chinese photo-journalists. The exhibition also included some important publications written by the Chinese authors on various spheres of the country's traditional life.
Ambassador Salman Bashir, who received the guests, hoped the exhibition that carried glimpses of the country's spectacular tourism potential would help promote exchanges between the two brotherly countries.
A senior official of China Tourism Administration Ma Liang said the Chinese people, young and old, cherished their friendship with Pakistan and wished to visit this beautiful country.
Talking to APP, he said they consider Pakistan as one of the ideal destinations for travelling because of their old cultural and social links.
However, he added many Chinese tourists and enterprises are not quite familiar with Pakistan's rich cultural heritage and scenic spots. He hoped such exhibition would help to attract the Chinese tourists.
