A meeting of district administration was held here on Tuesday to review the measures taken to tackle possible floods in the district. The meeting was chaired by Dr Waqar Chaudhry D O (Revenue) Hafizabad and attended by all concerned. Army Officers present in the meeting assured that Army would ensure protection of lives and properties of the affected.
However, District Officer (Revenue) said civil administration was fully prepared to take timely action for protection of people and in case of emergency, Army would be called to assist civil administration.
The meeting decided divide Hafizabad district into two sectors and three sub-sectors and to close Katcha passages being used by the villagers on protective bund. It was disclosed in the meeting that in case of flood in the river Chenab, 60 villages of Pindi Bhattian tehsil were likely to be affected.
