Soft wheat

30 Jun, 2005

Syria's state grains agency has rejected all offers and made no sale in a tender to sell and export a total 100,000 tonnes of hard and soft wheat which closed on Tuesday, traders said on Wednesday. The tender comprised 50,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat and 50,000 tonnes of hard amber durum wheat. The grain was for shipment in August and was from Syria's 2004 crop.
Syria's grain agency has been relatively restrained in issuing new grain tenders this year, undertaking more direct sales and participation in international purchase tenders from other countries.
