EU increases periodic refunds on raw sugar exports

The European Union has raised its export refunds on small amounts of white and raw sugar, its Official Journal said on Friday. The periodic refund on small amounts of white sugar was increased to 34.83 euros per 100 kg from the rate of 34.18 euros last set on June 29.
The refund on small amounts of raw sugar was set at 32.04 euros, up from the previous 31.44 euros. Representatives of EU national sugar authorities and the European Commission sit on the committee.
The European Union has raised reference prices for cane and beet molasses, and kept import duties for both at zero, its Official Journal said on Friday.
The EU's sugar management committee, made up of representatives of national sugar authorities and the European Commission, set the reference price for beet molasses at 12.00 euros per 100 kg, up from the 11.75 euros last set on June 2.
For cane molasses, the panel raised the reference price to 11.45 euros, against the previous rate of 11.29 euros. Import duties for both types of molasses were kept at zero.
