Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) has called upon the Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, to order resolution of sewerage and infrastructure problems being faced by the residents of Township Industrial Area. This demand was raised at an emergent meeting of the body held here on Saturday with its Chairman, Nasrullah Mughal in the Chair. Among others, the meeting was attended by the Senior Vice-Chairman Khawaja Shahzad Nasir, Mian Shafqat Ali, Mian Noman Kabir and Mian Abuzar Shad.
The meeting maintained that recent rain has played havoc in the industrial area as rainwater had entered into factories and mills destroying machinery, cloth and raw material, said a spokesman of the association.
Moreover, industrialists alleged that although Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had given millions of rupees to Punjab Industrial Development and Management Company, but it was not showing any interest in solving the problems of township industrial area.
