The special mobile technical teams of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has restored power supply completely through 134 affected feeders during morning rain in the provincial metropolis on Saturday. Lesco Chief Executive Engineer Muhammad Akram Arain told APP here on Saturday roadside trees had fallen on the live high and low transmission lines that caused power breakdown.
He said now supply in all affected areas has been restored after removing trees from the sites.
He said torrential rain which continued for an hour in city badly disrupted power supply in some of the low lying areas of city including Lakshami chowk, Mecleod road, Railway Station, North city, Sabzazar, Multan road and Kot lakhpat.
He said sub divisional mobile teams restored the power supply in all affected areas in a record time and now entire power distribution system of Lesco was functioning normally. He said individual power break down complaints was being attended to promptly by complaint staff of sub divisions, which had been working round the clock.
Superintending Engineer Central Circle Rana Anwarul Haq told special teams each headed by SDO have been constituted at sub division level in the circle to attend the complaints in case of any major break down during the current monsoon season.
He said all ExEns have been directed to monitor overall performance of their concerned SDOs and warned that strict action would be taken against SDOs found negligent of duty.
