Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said local bodies elections would be fair, free and impartial and a level playing field would be available to all candidates. Talking to MNA Riaz Hussain Pirzada here at the Prime Minister house, the Prime Minister urged voters to elect candidates on merit and keeping in view their past performance.
The Prime Minister said the people should participate actively in the local government elections so that the democratic system in the country could be further strengthened.
The Prime Minister said the government would continue to work for the welfare of people and provide them basic needs of life like clean drinking water, better sewerage system, construction of roads and provision of gas.
The Prime Minister said a comprehensive project to provide gas to maximum number of consumers would be started soon.
He said the government has also started installation of water treatment plants to provide clean drinking water in the country and 6000 such plants would be installed in the country under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme.
The Prime Minister said the government is committed to trickle down the benefits of development visible in the economic sector.
He said with the increase in economic activities in the country, job opportunities have been increased and the people are feeling a positive change in their lives.
MNA Riaz Hussain Pirzada briefed the Prime Minister about problems of his area and pace of development projects.
