The Vice President of Pakistan Steel Labour Union (Paslu), Tajammul Hussain was gunned down outside his home by unknown assailants in the wee hours of Sunday. According to details, Tajammul Hussain was locking the main gate of his home in Gulshan-e-Hadeed on his way to mosque for Fajr Prayers, two unknown assailants arrived and opened indiscriminate fire on him.
He received bullet injuries in his neck and died on the spot. At about 7:00 am some security guard saw his body and called the area people.
Tajammul's family members are presently in Lahore. The deceased leaves behind two sons, one daughter and a widow to mourn his death
As the news of Tajammul's assassination spread in the area shops and commercial centres were closed in protest. The deceased had a good reputation as an office-bearer of the Paslu and was famous among Pakistan Steel's workers.
This is the second target killing of Paslu office-bearers as few years back Pasha Gul, the president of the union, was also murdered in the city.
Meantime, the spokesman of Idara-e-Noore Haq of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has termed Tajammul's death as target killing of party's innocent workers.
